Dr. Mahmoud HAMED - Associate Professor at the Department of Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering (EECE) and EECE2000 - has supervised a Graduation Project in the Credit Hour System (CHS) Program of the Faculty of Engineering/Cairo University, entitled:

NFC Applications in Cairo University

The project won Dr. Hammam MAHMOUD Best Project Award in Communication Engineering discipline competition, during the activities of the Egyptian Engineering Day (EED). The event took place in Cairo International Conference Center (CICC) during the period 10 - 11 September 2014, and was attended by:

Eng. Ibrahim MAHLEB, Prime Minister of Egypt

Eng. Atef HELMY, Minister of Communications and Information Technology

Prof. Dr. Ahmed DARWISH, President of IEEE Egypt Section.

Additional highlights of the EED2014:

  • It included about 170 projects in 10 engineering disciplines in addition to 32 projects participating in "Made in Egypt" competition and 10 projects in "Future City" competition.
  • The event was sponsored by NTRA, Vodafone, Masr Elkheir, Mentor Graphics and Nile University.
  • Over 18,000 visitors attended the event during the two days including representatives from the industry, engineering students from various universities as well as members of the media who were covering the event.
  • The event included 3 competitions: Made In Egypt (MIE), Future City and EED. The winners of the competitions were announced in the closing ceremony.
