Eng. Mohamed RADWAN - Demonstrator at EECE and EECE2013 - wins 1st place in the 2014 Annual International Microelectronics Olympiad of Armenia

The Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering (EECE) Department is pleased to announce that one of its fresh graduates - Eng. Mohamed RADWAN, Demonstrator and EECE2013 - has won 1st place in the 2014 Annual International Microelectronics Olympiad of Armenia. According to information provided by Dr. Mohamed ABOUDINA - mentor of Eng. RADWAN - the competition was the 9th Microelectronics Olympiad. It is a global contest for young engineers under 30, engaged in the field of microelectronics and EDA.

The international Olympiad in Microelectronics focuses on 4 main topics:
  • Digital IC Design and Test
  • Analog and Mixed Signal IC Design and Test
  • Semiconductor Devices and Technology
  • Mathematical and Algorithmic Issues of EDA
 
The final competition was held in Armania and sponsord by : Synopsis, IEEE and viva cell .
 
The Annual International Microelectronics Olympiad of Armenia is a knowledge-based written exam, conducted in two stages. The first-stage is held locally in each participating country. In Egypt, this first stage was organized by Synopsis/IEEE and was held in the AUC back in June 2014 and Mohamed got the first place so he was automatically invited to participate in the final stage in Armenia.
 
Total number of participants was about 800 engineers from 22 countries, namely:  Argentina, Armenia, Belarus, China, Egypt, Georgia, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Jordan, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, UAE, UK, Ukraine, Uruguay, U.S. and Vietnam.

All members of the EECE Department congratulate Eng. Mohamed RADWAN on this achievement, and wishes him continued success.
