Eshrah received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in electronics and communications engineering from Cairo University, Egypt, in 2000 and 2002, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Mississippi, USA,in 2005. Since 2012, he has been an Associate Professor with the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, where he is currently teaching graduate and undergraduate courses and serving as a member of various academic and administrative committees. From 2007 to 2012 he was an Assistant Professor at the same department. He is also a program manager at the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) since 2009. From 2002 to 2006, he worked as a research assistant then as a visiting scholar at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Mississippi. From 2000 to 2002, he was a teaching assistant in the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering at Cairo University.

His research interests include dielectric resonator and wire antennas, numerical methods in electromagnetics, modeling of microwave structures, smart antenna arrays, and meta-material guided-wave structures. He has more than 20 refereed journal publications, and more than 40 publications in national and international conferences. Dr. Eshrah is also a co-author of the Metamaterial Handbook.

Dr. Eshrah is a senior member of the Institute of the Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi. He is a three-time recipient of the Young Scientist Award presented in 2004, 2005, and 2007 at the URSI Electromagnetic Theory Symposium, Pisa, Italy, the URSI General Assembly, New Delhi, India, and the URSI Electromagnetic Theory Symposium, Ottawa, Canada, respectively. He was the recipient of the Raj Mittra junior researcher award presented in the 2005 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, Washington D.C., USA, and the Best Paper Award presented in the 2005 Antenna Applications Symposium, Illinois. He was a finalist at the student paper contests held at the 2005 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium and the 2006 IEEE International Microwave Symposium, California, USA. In recognition of his active research work, Dr. Eshrah received the Graduate Research Award and the Dissertation Fellowship from the University of Mississippi in 2004 and 2005, respectively. Dr. Eshrah is a reviewer of the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques (TMTT), the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation (TAP), the Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications (JEMWA), and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Proceedings on Microwaves, Antennas, and Propagation (MAP).
