The 15th International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM 03) was held in Cairo, Egypt December 9-11, 2003. The conference is sponsored by the Electronics and Communication Department, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University; and is co-sponsored by the Electron Devices Society of IEEE. The ICM conference series has been held in numerous countries across the Middle East and Asia. ICM was founded in 1986 by Prof. Dr. Mohamed I. Elmasry, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo. The mission of the ICM series is to bridge the technological, educational and cultural gaps between developing and developed nations.
ICM03 included 3 keynote lectures and 22 sessions. The technical sessions included four sessions on analog ICs, three sessions on FPGA-based design, two sessions on RF ICs, five sessions on devices, five sessions on digital design, two sessions on CAD, and one session on IC technology. 143 papers were submitted to the conference, out of which 97 were accepted. Every paper was double reviewed by an international and a local expert.
