The EECE Dept was previllaged to have Professor Hanan KAMAL as its first female chairman during the period November 2019 till November 2020. During this time, the COVID-19 pandemic has swept the entire hemisphere, and drastic measures had to be undertaken to confine the spread and mitigate the damaging effects of this devastating plague. One of the unprecedented measures was replacing face-to-face activities in schools and universities by using online techniques. Prof. KAMAL was ablle to skilfully steer the EECE Dept. and manage its affairs during this turbulent time, thanks to her character which exhibited both calm and wisdom.

The EECE Council held its first face-to-face meeting after the COVID-19 pandemic on 8 May 2023. This was just the right time to express gratitude for the former EECE Chairwoman. On this occasion, the current EECE Dept Chair - Prof. Khaled ELSAYED - presented Prof. Hanan KAMAL with a simple token of appreciation.

It is always a pleasue for the EECE Staff members to acknowledge with appreciation the sincere efforts and the invaluablle contributions of former EECE Chairpersons.
