It is with great sorrow and deep emotions that the EECE Department announces the sad news that one of its distinguished graduates who specialized in the field of Engineering Mathematics - Professor Magdy EL-TAWIL - has passed away. Professor EL-TWAIL obtained a B.Sc. in Electronics and Electrical Communications from Cairo University in 1978, a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Ain Shams University in 1981, an M.Sc. Eng. Mathematics from Cairo University in 1984, and a Ph.D. in Eng. Mathematics form Cairo University in 1989. He has been promoted to the rank of full professor of Eng. Mathematics at Cairo University since 1999. He has authored a large number of publications and received the Cairo University Award in Fundamental and Applied Sciences in 2001 and the Cairo University Distinction Award in Fundamental Sciences in 2011. The EECE Department extends its sincerest condolences to the family of Late Professor Magdy EL-TAWIL, to the sister Department of Engineering Mathematics and Applied Physics, and to all his colleagues, acquaintances, and students.
