The Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University held its elections for the Deanship for the first time since the 1990's, on Saturday, 24th September. Three candidates ran for the position, and each has made a presentation to the Faculty Staff on Wednesday, 21st September. The planning for the voting process and its implementation went very smooth, and more than 71% of the eligible voters showed up. The process started at 9:00 am and was resumed at 12:00 noon. By 3:00 pm the voting was closed after which sorting took place and the results were announced. Dr. Wael EL-DEGWY secured more than 60% of the eligible votes, and has been announced as the winner of the election and the new Dean for the Faculty of Engineering. The EECE Department sincerely congratulates Dr. EL-DEGWY for his great win, and wishes him success in accomplishing the goals and objectives he declared during the election campaign.
